Barden, John D.

John D. Barden, age 48, of Town of Buena Vista, Amherst, WI, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at his residence.

John was born in Stevens Point, WI on February 19, 1965, the son of Franklin and Anna (Ebersdorfer) Barden. John worked for C.S. McCrossan Construction Inc. and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 139. He enjoyed farming, raising beef cattle, hunting with his brothers and nephews, karaoke, trap shooting, hanging out with family and friends, shooting pool, throwing darts, and watching the Packers and Brewers. In his younger years John played baseball for the local teams and was a member of the 4-H.

John is survived by his parents, Franklin and Ann Barden, Amherst, WI; his siblings: JoAnn (John) Doyle, Amherst, WI; Tom (Patty) Barden, Almond, WI; Bob (Chris) Barden, Plover, WI; Karen (Mick) Wennesberg, Tell City, IN; Gary (Sandy) Barden, Almond, WI; Mike (Val) Barden, Amherst, WI; Patty (Dave) Kamke, Green Bay, WI; Mary Jo Barden, Waupaca, WI; his aunt, Jo Skelly, Mitchell, SD; his Godsons, Joe Barden and John Kamke both of Green Bay, WI. He was preceded in death by a brother – Jim (Peggy) Barden, his maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, aunts and uncles.

The Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, August 8 at 10:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 8611 State Hwy 54 between Plover and Waupaca, Town of Buena Vista. Father Jim Trempe will be officiating. The visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 4 – 8 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst with a general Rosary at 7 PM. Also 1 hour visitation prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery Town Lanark, Wisconsin. Jungers-Holly Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
