Panthers spike Bulldogs

The Oconto Falls Panthers spiked their way to a three-game win over the New London Bulldogs on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The Panthers leapt out to a big lead in game one, winning by a score of 25-14. They won the second game in similar fashion, by a score of 25-13. Game three was more of the same, as the Panthers cruised to a 25-18 win.

Caleigh Shaw had seven attack kills and three block kills to go with two digs. Payton Mix added one ace, three attack kills and two digs. McCoy Mix tallied one ace, one block kill and five digs.

Morgan Gorges notched one attack kill, one block kill and 12 digs. Jenna Mytton added two aces and 10 assists. Molly O’Connell chipped in with one dig, while Alanna Beyer and Cassidy Shaw had eight digs each.

Bay Conference Tournament

The Bulldogs posted a 1-3 match record and a 2-6 game record at the Bay Conference Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 19.

In match one, New London lost to Hortonville by scores of 7-25 and 23-25.

Match two saw the Bulldogs fall to West De Pere by scores of 17-25 and 19-25.

In match three, New London turned things around with a win over Marinette by scores of 25-15 and 25-21.

Shawano beat New London in match four by scores of 25-13 and 25-23.

Caleigh Shaw had one ace, 26 attack kills, nine block kills, one assist and seven digs. Payton Mix added 15 attack kills, two block kills and five digs.

Gorges tallied five aces, five attack kills, one assist and 20 digs. Mytton added two aces, one block, 55 assists and 14 digs. Beyer contributed one assist and 24 digs.
