Bulldogs lose heartbreaker

The Bulldog varsity volleyball team saw its season end with a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to Waupaca on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

The Bulldogs appeared ready to cruise to a three-game victory, as they won games one and two by scores of 25-18 and 25-21, respectively.

Waupaca earned a win in game three by a score of 25-19, and kept the momentum to win game four by a score of 25-18.

With the match now hinging on the deciding fifth game, the Comets raced past the Bulldogs to win by a score of 15-9.

Caleigh Shaw led New London with one ace, 20 attack kills, two block kills and three digs. Payton Mix added one ace, 16 attack kills, five block kills and five digs.

McCoy Mix tallied one ace, eight attack kills and 12 digs. Morgan Gorges added one ace, three attack kills and eight digs.

Jenna Mytton notched one ace, one block kill, seven digs and 46 assists. Molly O’Connell contributed one ace, two attack kills, one assist and five digs.

Alanna Beyer had 10 digs, while Cassidy Shaw added one attack kill and two digs.
