I hope the people of the New London area realize what a treasure Hatten Park is for them.
My AARP treasurer from out of town (Shiocton) and I had a photo-op at Hatten Stadium. Our group had donated to the Hatten Stadium project with some of the money left when we disbanded in September.
We were early for our appointment, so we rode around a bit. She was amazed at the size and beauty of the park, with its hiking and cross country ski trails. She thought that what you see from Werner-Allen Road is the park.
It is all well cared for. I appreciate the efforts of Mr. Hatten and the WPA workers. It is a nice addition to the city. The WPA was a good program in Roosevelt’s time.
