The Iola-Scandinavia boys’ basketball team picked up three recent wins – including a pair of Central Wisconsin 8 Conference victories – and is now 7-0 on the season.
The Thunderbirds handed Cambria-Friesland a 45-27 loss Dec. 14, knocked off Wittenberg-Birnamwood 45-27 Dec. 12 and opened CWC-8 play Dec. 10 with a 49-48 overtime win at Bonduel.

BONDUEL – Only four players scored for I-S, but it was enough to knock off the Bears on their home court.
The T-Birds led 14-12 after one quarter, 28-20 at halftime and 36-31 after three quarters before the Bears outscored the visitors 12-7 over the final eight minutes to send the game into overtime with the score knotted at 43-43.
The T-Birds outscored the Bears 6-5 in the extra period. Welch led the way with 17 points, followed by John Prahl with 16 and Braiden Garbe with 10.
Colton Dobratz scored 16 points to lead Bonduel, with 12 of his points coming on four three-pointers.
The T-Birds played at Stevens Point Pacelli Dec. 17 and will host Shiocton at 7:30 tonight (Thursday, Dec. 19).
