Waupaca man charged for skipping jail

Mark T. Gardner, 47, Waupaca, was charged with failure to report to jail.

On Nov. 19, 2013, Gardner was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor bail jumping and sentenced to 30 days in jail with work-release privileges.

Gardner was to begin serving his sentence on Jan. 19. After he failed to report to the jail, Sgt. Debra Krueger, with the Waupaca County jail, contacted Gardern’s father, who reported Gardner had left town, according to the criminal complaint.

A warrant for Gardner’s arrest was issued on Jan. 30. He appeared in court on Feb. 3, the court revoked his work release privileges and set a $500 cash bail as a condition of his release on the new charge.
