Joseph Albert Baxa, age 83, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the Veterans Home.
Joe was born in Cooperstown, WI on December 16, 1930, the son of the late Frank and Anna (Hynek) Baxa. He served in the U.S. Army, serving overseas in Germany. He is survived by an older brother, Edward Baxa, Whitehall, WI and an older sister, Grace Gregorius, Green Bay, WI. Joseph is also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Victor.
The Funeral Mass was on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the Wisconsin Veterans Home-Olson Hall Chapel with Father Ted Lewandowski, officiating. Burial with military rites was in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Joe was a bachelor his entire life and his family appreciated all who cared for him during his years at the Veteran’s Home. Holly Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
