Gary Mark Gillis, age 72, New London died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 16, 2014.
He was born on June 17, 1942, in Luxemburg, son of Henry and Johanna (Kozlowski) Gillis. On August 17, 1963, Gary was united in marriage to Judy Kudick in Green Bay. Gary was a previous resident of Luxemburg and Green Bay and since 1972, New London where he owned and operated G & W Builders; he did many jobs in the New London area. He was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and Father Herb Council #1997. Gary loved to go fishing with his friend, Norb Meshnick and going on trips with friends, Joe and Donna Kaczorowski.
He is survived by his wife Judy; daughters, Connie (Matt) Hoffman, Appleton; Julaine (Kris) Kluever, New London; sons, Kenneth (special friend, Carrie Griel), Winchester and Eric (special friend, William Mark), Oshkosh; brothers, Harold (Helen) Gillis, Green Bay and Larry (Jean) Gillis, Kaukauna; grandchildren: Katelyn and Megan Gillis; Amanda Hoffman; Grayson and Holden Kluever. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Aurelia (Ray) Phillips and Lolita (Jerry) Cravillion.
Funeral Mass for Gary will be on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London with Fr. Joseph Arul I. officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Fuhrmann for all his care and support of Gary over the years.
