Stocker, May Ruby (Bennett)

May Ruby (Bennett) Stocker, age 91, passed away September 5, 2014 at Bethany Home. 

May was born on May 21st, 1923, the daughter of Amy Amelia (Dudley) and Charles Sidney Bennett in London, England in the Borough of Camberwell. May enjoyed traveling. Her greatest adventure was in 1946, when she came to the U.S. on the Queen Mary from England, with baby in hand, to New York, took a train to Chicago, and then proceeded by train to Waupaca. May also took pleasure in caring for her grandchildren, knitting, sewing, cooking, volunteering and was always active in the church. May had a wonderful soul and followed the word of God. She will be welcome in the gates of heaven where Hartman will be waiting. 

She is survived by sons: Gerald Smith (Fern), Sidney Stocker ( Susan), Leon Stocker ( Candace), Daniel Stocker (Kay), Antone Stocker (Catherine) and Steven Stocker. May was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Brenda, Brian, Lance, Kari Jo, Dustin, J. D., Josh, Amy, Benjamin and Tristan; 18 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, by three sisters and one brother, many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Sidney Bennett; first husband, Gerald Smith and second husband, Hartman Stocker. 

A funeral service will be held on Thursday September 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Pastor Beth Macha will officiate with burial to follow at Lakeside Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the church. The Holly Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
