Froehlich, Erwin Charles

Erwin Charles Froehlich, age 56, of Oshkosh, WI, died on 14 Oct 2014, after a long illness. 

Born in a military family, Win lived in California, Virginia, Florida and Illinois, before his family finally settled in the suburbs of Chicago. There he graduated from Niles East High School. A talented carpenter, he worked in the construction business throughout his life. Win was a naturalist at heart and said that he found God in nature. Above all, he was a fisherman who loved the Wisconsin Rivers. He had an engaging smile, an inquiring mind and a great generosity of spirit. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and M. Grace Froehlich; his sister, Sheila Weber; and his niece, Cara Weber. He is survived by his sisters: Margaret Edwards, Albuquerque, NM; Maureen Lewandowski (Bill), Kenosha, WI; Julie Froehlich, Oshkosh, WI; and Barbara Finnegan (Tom), Appleton, WI; his two uncles, Philip Lampert (Helen), and Daniel Lampert (Vera), as well as many nieces and nephews. 

A Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Seefeld Funeral Home, 1025 Oregon St. Oshkosh, followed by a Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Day by Day Warming Shelter, 449 High St., Oshkosh, WI 54901, telephone 920-203-4865 in Win’s memory.
