Clintonville needs to start making smart decisions

According to a news report in the Clintonville Tribune-Gazette, it stated our city is in financial trouble. As our leaders try to determine the priority of expenses, why would they be paying anyone $75 per hours, such as the new interim city administrator will receive? Wow.

Where is this money coming from? Cut the salaries of our faithful city employees or downsize the staff? How fair is that when someone will be pulling $75 an hour?

Someone from outside our city said change is good and I agree, if it has good benefits; however, when we have “budget woes,” how good is that? When we lose good devoted workers, how good is that?

Maybe the light bulbs have to go on in city hall before the street lights go on? Perhaps a referendum to us taxpayers would be an idea that the council could consider regarding the street light issue.

My prayer is that good decisions would be made by the council for the whole city of Clintonville.
