Don Schwarzenbach, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in San Jose, California, after a long battle with brain cancer. He died peacefully in his sleep in the home of his best friends, Ken Nadeau and Rita Lorenz who gave him loving care.
Don was born July 3, 1951 and graduated Waupaca High School in 1969. He completed military service in the U.S. Air Force and entered the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire, graduating with a BA in Fine Arts. He moved to San Jose, CA and ended his working career at the City of San Jose Public Library. He retired in 2010. Don was loved by his family and well liked by everyone who knew him. He had a kind heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He was an avid collector of model cars, liked exercise and working out at the gym. He could see beauty in everyday things. We will all miss him very much.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, John and Loretta Schwarzenbach, Waupaca. He is survived by one brother, John (Jeanellyn) Schwarzenbach, Green Bay and two sisters, Sandra Gould (Jack Seitz), Neenah and Judith Schwarzenbach, Santa Rosa, CA.
A Celebration of Don’s Life will take place this summer. Interment will be at Riverside Memorial Cemetery.
