Students at Readfield Elementary School in New London enjoyed Readfield Literacy Night, March 12.
Using a treasure map pirates and landlubbers alike joined staff on Readfield Island in search of treasure. Families of pirates spent the evening hunting for treasures at many different stops on their map, including Capn’ Chad Galleon.
Fourth-grade lasses and lassies served fresh rations (spaghetti) and hard tack (breadsticks).
Another favorite spot where treasure was found was the Under the Sea Book Fair. Many brave pirates even had a chance to “Walk the Plank.”
