Johnson, James

James Duane Johnson, 79, of Navarino, passed away early Thursday morning, April 23, 2015 at Shawano Medical Center.

He was born in the Town of Maine, January 2, 1936, son of the late Robert Johnson and Edna (Olson-Johnson) Grandy. James attended Leeman Grade School and graduated from Bonduel High School. He excelled in sports: track, basketball and football. On June 11, 1955 he was united in marriage to Joanne Horvath. James is a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Navarino. He owned a dairy farm near Nichols and also worked at Appleton Coated. Jim and Joanne became part owners in J & H Game Farm in 1964. He also drove semi for several years. Jim was a member and officer of the Wisconsin Sporting Clays Assoc., the Wisconsin Game Assoc. and has his name on the Range Protection Act for Wisconsin.

Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joanne; children and grandchildren: Mike Johnson (special friend Lene), Michigan and his children: Jessica Cook (fiancé Steve), Jodie and Jeffrey; Diane (Steve) Redmann, Shawano and their children: Amanda (Nikk) Brei, and their children: Ava Brei and Dominick Thorson, Erica (Mike) Ensrud, Michael Redmann (fiancée Lindsey Jones); Gail (Tim) Giese, Hortonville and their children, Matt and Josh Giese; Jayne Schweiger (special friend Bob), Fort Atkinson, and her children: Jacob, Alec and Eli Schweiger; siblings: Donald (Judy) Johnson, Clintonville; Joan Wichman, Seymour; Mary (Jim) Tyner, Barrington, IL; Arla (Jim) Horvath, Nichols; Harland (Joanne) Grandy, Greenville.

Friends may call at Ascension Lutheran Church, Navarino on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 12:30 p.m. with services at 4 p.m. with Pastor John Paquette officiating.
