Library hosts Star Wars author

Sturm Memorial Library in Manawa will host author John Jackson Miller at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 22.

Miller, a local literary figure who currently resides in Scandinavia, is the author of numerous books in the Star Wars franchise. These books include Knight Errant, Star Wars: Kenobi, Lost Tribe of the Sith: the Collected Stories and A New Dawn.

Miller is also author of books in the Star Trek series, plus author and contributing author to numerous books for Marvel and Dark Horse Comics and was the author of the comic adaptation of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Miller wrote and edited for Krause Publications, of Iola, for several years. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in journalism and received his master’s degree in comparative politics from Louisiana State University.

This special event at the library is a celebration of literary superheroes to tie in with the “Hero” theme for the library’s summer program.

This event is open to people in grades seven to adults. Wearing costumes is encouraged.

Anyone with copies of the author’s books can bring them to get signed and there will be books for sale with the author available to sign after his presentation.
