Raid leads to drug bust

pc-HANDCUFFSOfficers raided a home in Royalton and reported finding $9,600 in marijuana.

Carl and Mimi Ganzen were arrested Friday, Aug. 14, after drug investigators with the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at their N4857 Depot St. home, located west of New London.

Marijuana was found growing both indoors and outdoors, as well as nearly one pound of harvested marijuana and numerous firearms.

Carl Ganzen was convicted of delivery of marijuana and the manufacture of a controlled substance in 1993 in Outagamie County. As a felon, he is prohibited from having firearms.

He was released from custody on a $2,000 cash bail and has been referred to the district attorney’s office for charges of felony delivery of marijuana, felon in possession of a firearm and maintaining a place for drug manufacturing.

Mimi Ganzen was released on a signature bond and faces similar charges.

The couple have been under investigation since early June, according to Sgt. Kevin Studzinski with the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office.

Waupaca County investigators worked with the state Division of Criminal Investigation, New London police, the Central Wisconsin Drug Task Force and the county Health and Human Services Department.
