Bulldogs to block breast cancer

Charity football game to raise funds, awareness

In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the New London Bulldogs football program will raise awareness locally with a clothing sale and charity varsity football game.

This year’s theme is “Bulldogs Blocking Breast Cancer.” The football program will sell pink apparel with this year’s logo to wear on Oct. 16 during the school/work day and to the 7 p.m. game against Freedom.

T-shirts will cost $10 and hooded sweatshirts are $25. All proceeds will be donated to breast cancer programs.

Many people in the New London School District and New London community have been directly or indirectly affected by breast cancer. With that in mind, the charitable donation will be given “In honor of our Bulldog Family.”

In 2013 and 2014 over $7,800 was raised and donated to the Affinity Breast Center located within St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. This year the program plans to make a donation to Theda Care Center-New London for cancer programs.

Orders can be placed online through Fox Cities Embroidery until 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 6. Orders can also directly be placed at Fox Cities Embroidery in Hortonville until 6 p.m. on Oct. 6. All orders will be distributed in the schools on Oct. 14 and 15.

Bulldogs football players will wear pink socks and pink wristbands as part of the team uniform during the game.
