Clintonville gets first conference victory

By Scott Bellile

The Clintonville Truckers football team celebrated Homecoming 2015 with its first conference win over the Oconto Falls Panthers Friday, Sept. 25.

The Truckers exerted three touchdowns to land a 21-13 victory, bringing their conference record to 1-4 and overall record to 2-4.

The scoring started in the second quarter when the Panthers ran in a four-yard touchdown and kicked the extra point with about eight and a half minutes to go. With about four and a half minutes remaining, Clintonville allowed an Oconto Falls full back to slip through their defense and run in a 41-yard touchdown.

Trailing 13-0, the Truckers got the Clintonville Fire Department to sound their first touchdown siren in the last 30 seconds of the second quarter.

After halftime, the Truckers brought in two more third-quarter touchdowns to pass up Oconto Falls and win the game.

The Truckers will next play at Luxemburg-Casco on Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m.
