Stars’ winning streak ends

Girls’ hockey team now 7-1 for season

The Fox Cities Stars’ winning streak ended with the team’s first loss of the season Saturday, Dec. 19.

The hockey team had gone seven games undefeated between its season opener Nov. 24 and Dec. 16 before losing 5-0 to the Hudson Raiders last weekend.

The Raiders had 27 shots on goal, of which Stars goalie Hannah Buchman of New London stopped 22. The Stars attempted 20 shots on goal to no success.

NEENAH – The Stars kept the Fond du Lac Co-Op Warbirds from reaching the net in an Eastern Shores conference dual on Dec. 16.
Hortonville’s Ally Fox had two assists. New London goalie Hannah Buchman shared an assist with Fox on the last goal, which they helped usher into an empty net in the final minute.

Buchman stopped 20 shots on goal by the Warbirds and allowed zero in.

The Fox Cities Stars is a co-op girls’ varsity hockey team led by Xavier High School in Appleton. Buchman of New London High School, and Fox and Alli Mork of Hortonville High School play on the 10-school team.
