Thunderbirds come back in second half

The Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds came away with a 46-30 win over the Pacelli Cardinals in a Friday night conference match in Iola.

During the first half of the game, Christonna Shafranski poured in 10 points for the Cardinals while Kaylin Ellioff scored 10 for Iola-Scandinavia.

With the score nearly even, Pacelli headed to the locker room with an 18-17 advantage in the game.

The T-birds were not going to be denied another victory and came back strong in the second half, outscoring Pacelli 29-12.
Leighten Fischer had the hot hand scoring in the second half, scoring 15 for I-S.

Fischer was the top scorer for the T-Birds, with 19 points, while Ellioff added 17 and Baleigh Fuhs 6.

Shafranski was the only Cardinal in double figures with 13 points. Amanda Klasinski added 9 and Sydney Alery 4.

The T-Birds will travel to Rosholt on Tuesday, Jan. 12 to take on the Hornets.
