A former Waupaca High School hockey standout has been named to his second North American 3 Hockey League Top Prospects Tournament.

Jared Erickson, a 2014 WHS graduate, has suited up for the Twin City Steel, a NA3HL team based in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, since 2014.

He is one of 160 players invited to the eight-team tournament, scheduled for Monday to Wednesday, Feb. 15-17, at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.

Erickson, who scored 112 goals and had 82 assists in four seasons with the Comets, will play on the West Division team.

Each team consists of 20 players (12 forwards, six defensemen and two goalies). The league’s 34 head coaches nominate players for the tournament.

Erickson, a forward, has played in 79 games with the Steel the past two seasons and has scored 21 goals and made 40 assists, including eight goals and 21 assists so far this season.
