More charges against Iola man

An Iola man out on bail for reckless endangerment is now accused of fighting with three officers.
Jack R. Raymond, 32, is charged with attempted battery of an officer, resisting an officer, felony bail jumping and two counts of disorderly conduct.
At 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, Sgt. Paul Zierler with the Iola Police Department was dispatched to an apartment on McKinley Street. The caller reported that Raymond was in his apartment, drunk, belligerent and refusing to leave.
When Zierler arrived, he saw Raymond walking away from the apartment building. Raymond, who appeared very intoxicated, slipped and fell on the ice.
Zierler helped Raymond to his feet and asked him what was going on. Raymond said nothing, according to the criminal complaint.
When Zierler asked Raymond to sit in the back of the squad car while he talked to the man who called 911, Raymond refused and started to walk away, the criminal says.
Zierler grabbed Raymond’s arm and a struggle ensued. Zierler then pushed Raymond against the side of his vehicle and handcuffed him. Raymond reportedly refused to go into the squad car.
Deputies Bill Zeamer and Kyle Wiskirchen arrived to assist. All three officers pushed and pulled Raymond into the Zierler’s squad car.
While being transported to the county jail, Raymond urinated inside the vehicle, the complaint says.
A preliminary breath test indicated that Raymond had a 0.36 blood-alcohol content at the time of his arrest.
In September 2015, Raymond was charged with felony reckless endangerment and released on a $5,000 signature bond.
