T-Birds fall to Mishicot
I-S girls’ basketball team out of tournament play

The Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds suffered a 51-28 loss at home Tuesday, Feb. 23, during the regional round of the WIAA state girls’ basketball tournament.
In the first half, Mishicot outscored the Thunderbirds 34-14. Brianna Groelle led the scoring with 11 points for the Indians.
The Indians continued their drive in the second half, outscoring Iola-Scandinavia 17-14.
Leading the scoring for I-S was Mia Wandtke with 9 points, followed by Leighten Fischer with 8 and Lexi Hitchcock with 4.
Groelle topped the scoring for Mishicot with 17, followed by Hannah Sweetman with 16, and Amber Peterson and Koutney Leroy with 5 each.
The T-Birds finished out their season with a 9-14 record over-all.

Mishicot will travel to Algoma Friday, Feb. 26, for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
