NWS upgrades watch to warning

Up to 14 inches of snow expected

The National Weather Service in Green Bay upgraded its weather alert for Waupaca County from a winter storm watch to a warning.

A total snow accumulation of 10 to 14 inches is now expected throughout Waupaca County. The heaviest snowfall is expected late this afternoon and tonight.

Northeast winds, gusting to 30-35 mph at times, will result in some blowing and drifting of snow.

The storm is expected to arrive a little slower than earlier anticipated. Snow will spread into central and east-central Wisconsin later this morning and afternoon, so the evening commute will be affected.

The snow will be heavy at times from late this afternoon through early Thursday with very poor travel conditions likely tonight and Thursday morning.
