Lind man airlifted after farm accident

A farmer was rescued after his tractor ran him over Tuesday evening in the town of Lind.

A Waupaca County communications officer received a 911 call at 5:15 p.m., but the call was dropped before voice contact was made.

The 911 operator was able to obtain coordinates and a call back number.

Waupaca County deputies were dispatched to a farm near the intersection of County Trunk X and Holiday Road.

When the operator called back the number, a 64-year-old man answered and said his tractor malfunctioned and ran over him. He was pinned beneath a mower deck attached to the tractor.

Weyauwega firefighters extricated the man and Gold Cross Ambulance paramedics provided initial trauma care.

The man was airlifted to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.
