Professional colleague endorses Isherwood

I am writing in support of Veronica Isherwood for Waupaca County district attorney.

I have known Veronica Isherwood for nearly 20 years. We both graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in the 1990s, I one year before her.

I have practiced law with Veronica in many cases in central Wisconsin. In the early 2000s when she was a defense attorney and I was the prosecutor; then several years later, when I was defense attorney and she was the prosecutor; together again on at least a half dozen child abuse and neglect cases where I represented the best interest of children as the guardian ad litem; and most recently I as the court administrator and she, the assistant district attorney.

In every single case I have found her to be hard-working, compassionate and detail-oriented. She has a work ethic that never stops. She is always prepared, she is knowledgeable on the law, but most of all she is fair.

She has been an extremely effective prosecutor as assistant district attorney in her nearly 20 years of experience. In fact, Veronica won the prestigious state-wide “Prosecutor of the Year” award from her colleagues in 2008.

I have seen Roni try everything from homicide cases to OWI cases and child abuse cases. She is strong, smart, experienced and decisive. And Roni always goes the extra mile in preparation for her case load. I recall her once giving up a Saturday afternoon event we had planned, so that she could drive to Madison to participate in a murdered child’s autopsy.

That’s Veronica Isherwood – ethical, approachable, prepared and diligent.

I am proud to call her my colleague and my friend, but most of all today, I am proud to support her bid for district attorney of Waupaca County. Please vote Veronica Isherwood for district attorney on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
