Employees quickly extinguish it
Waupaca firefighters were called to Waupaca Foundry Plant 2 at 8:03 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22.
“Foundry personnel had the fire out before we got there,” according to Waupaca Fire Chief Jerry Deuman. “We just stood by for assistance.”
Firefighters were on the scene for about half an hour.
Deuman said the slagger belt on the roof started on fire.
No injuries were reported.
