Wanted man charged with fleeing

Police report speeds reaching nearly 100 mph in a Clintonville chase.

Alexander M. Madson, 24, Clintonville, is charged with fleeing an officer and driving while revoked.

He is currently being held in custody on a $2,000 cash bond.

On Feb. 7, 2017, Clintonville Police Officer Craig Kamke observed a Pontiac Grand Prix with license plates that belonged to a Pontiac Sunfire.

Kamke activated his emergency lights and followed the vehicle into the Family Video parking lot.

The officer then reported that the Grand Prix failed to stop and sped out of the parking lot.

Kamke followed the vehicle for eight miles and ended the pursuit in the village of Embarrass when he lost sight of the vehicle.

Kamke later contacted the woman to whose name the license plates and Sunfire were registered. She said Madson was her former boyfriend and she suspected he stole her plates.

Kamke obtained Feb. 7 security video from the Walgreen’s parking lot that showed a man who appeared to be Madson entering a Grand Prix.

At the time of the police chase, there was a warrant for Madson’s arrest after he failed to appear for a Sept. 27, 2016, court hearing.

On April 4, 2016, Madson was charged with drug trafficking, delivery of narcotics, felony child abuse and obstructing an officer.
