Hollman, Myron K.

Myron K. Hollman (Mike), 88, Wausau, died Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Wisconsin Veteran’s Home at King.

Mike was born July 10, 1928 to the late Fritz and Esther Hollman in Wausau, Wisconsin. As a young man he joined the U.S. Navy, reenlisting in the U.S. Army and later enlisting in the U.S. Air Force where he served most of his Military career. He served in World War II, the Korean War and in Viet Nam where he earned the Bronze Star. He served honorably and retired after 28 years of military service. He was able to go with his son on a Never Forgotten Honor Flight in 2013. He was an avid fisherman, an accomplished golfer, bowler, woodworker, and enjoyed traveling: also having lived in Florida, New York, and California.

He is survived by his son, Russ (JoAnn) Hollman, daughters, Mara Hollman and Michelle Hollman Palmer; grandchildren, Dalton and Spencer Hollman, Ethan Palmer, Seth (TaraLea) Hollman, Shari(Matthew) Palmeri and Shawn (Matthew) Schliewe; sister, Virginia Dennison; brother, Leonard (Barbara) Hollman and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Milton and Gerald; stepfather, Ervin Schmutzler; and his former wives, LaVerne and Ok Ye, mothers of his children.

The family appreciates the caregivers and volunteers on the second floor, Stordock Hall for their care of Myron these past four years.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Peterson/ Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau with Chaplain Wayne Schwanke officiating. Veteran Honors will be given by the American Legion Honor Guard, Post 10, Wausau. Entombment will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, at a later date.
