Iola-Scandinavia rolls over Shiocton

Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds defeated the Shiocton Chiefs 50-7 for a Central Wisconsin Conference victory Friday night in Scandinavia.

The Thunderbirds scored six touchdowns in the first half of the game, led by Connor Kurki who ran in three of his own and passed for two more.

Bryce Huettner also scored for I-S to give them a 43-0 lead at the half.

Shiocton was able to get on the board on a four-yard run by Sam Bloch late in the third quarter bringing the score to 43-7.

The final score of the game came from Carter Kurki on an 8-ard run, giving the T-Birds the victory.

Huettner led the rushing for I-S on 12 carries for 213 yards, followed by Connor Kurki with seven carries for 144 yards. Kurki also connected on 3 of 7 passes for another 65 yards.

Samuel Bloch topped the rushing for Shiocton with 9 carries for 32 and also the passing where is completed 5 of 19 for 66 yards.

The T-Birds, who are now 5-1 overall, will host the 6-1 Amherst Falcons at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6.
