Police arrested a man with four prior felony drug convictions.

Eric W. Ewert, 30, Wisconsin Rapids, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, New London Police Officer Brody Erickson was dispatched to the Kwik Trip where an Outagamie County deputy found a man, identified as Ewert, asleep in his vehicle.

According to the criminal complaint, Ewert was visibly ill. Police reported he was extremely thin and had multiple sores on the back of his neck and shoulders.

An ambulance was called to the scene for a medical welfare check.

Ewert was released from custody on Sept. 25 on a $2,000 signature bond.

On Oct. 25, 2016, Ewert was convicted of delivery of narcotics in Outagamie County and placed on three years of probation with nine months in jail stayed.

On Aug. 14, 2016, Ewert was convicted of delivery of narcotics in Waupaca County and placed on three years of probation with six months in jail stayed.

On July 3, 2016, Ewert was convicted of possession of narcotics in Portage County and placed on three years of probation.

On Aug. 23, 2012, Ewert was convicted of delivery of cocaine in Winnebago County and placed on three years of probation. His probation was revoked on March 20, 2013, and he was sentenced to 18 months in state prison with 176 days credit for time served.
