Maxine L. Carew, New London, age 87, the Lord called her home peacefully on November 16, 2017.
She was born on September 18, 1930, daughter of the late Richard Isaac and Arabella (Feller) Thorn. Maxine married Gerald Carew on June 9, 1951 in New London. He preceded her in death in 1998. She was a very helping and giving person. Maxine was a longtime faithful member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. She worked at New London Lanes and helped with the Junior Bowling Program.
Maxine is survived by her children: Peggy Carew, Milwaukee; Ken (Sandy) Carew, New London; Patty Moravec, Little Chute; six grandchildren: Keith (Denise) Clegg; Kevin (Tina) Clegg; Kristopher (Kelly) Carew; Kane Carew; Tricia (Dave) Nelson; Sara (Travis) Mashak; nine great-grandchildren: Abby, Aly, Sawyer, Garret, Chance, Isley, Elaine, Stephen and Gracie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Cliff, sisters, Eloise and Lila, a son Mark, a grandson Zac and a granddaughter Megan.
Funeral services for Maxine will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Mark Tiefel officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
