Teen faces drug charges

An officer found cocaine and ecstasy during a traffic stop.

Mitchell A. Altergott, 18, De Pere, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of Schedule IV drugs with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shortly before 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, Wisconsin State Trooper Sara Burdick stopped a vehicle for speeding on U.S. Highway 10 near State Highway 96 in the town of Fremont.

After questioning the driver, identified as Altergott, Burdick searched the vehicle’s trunk and reported finding more than 6 ounces of pot, 75 alprazolam pills which are used to treat anxiety, six pills identified as ecstasy and seven plastic bags with cocaine.

According to the criminal complaint, Burdick also found a tightly rolled $100 bill with white powder.

Altergott was released on Dec. 2 after posting a $2,000 cash bond.
