Loretta C. Ritchie, age 99, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 12, 2018 at St. Joseph Residence in New London.
She was born on January 10, 1919 in the Town of Maple Creek, daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Thebo) Young. Loretta worked at Hanson Glove in Clintonville for 20 years retiring in 1969. She loved making rugs and crocheting prayer shawls. She enjoyed playing cards and going to eat at Romy’s any chance she got. She and her husband Victor danced their entire life and thoroughly enjoyed gardening and canning together.
Loretta is survived by her daughter, Elaine (Ronald) Evans; sisters-in-law, Lila Mae Young, Rose Young and Mary Young; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Victor; a son Roger; daughter LaVerne; seven brothers: Paul, Merlin, Lloyd, Floyd, Lyle, Duane, and Mark; a sister Hilda Henrickson; grandson Tommy Ritchie and granddaughter Annie Ritchie.
Funeral Mass for Loretta will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek with Fr. Jack Mullarkey and Parish Director Lincoln Wood co-officiating. Visitation will be held at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and also at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
