Grace Vander Bloomen of Waupaca, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home.
She was born in Crivitz on December 25, 1929 to the late Harry and Madeline (Heinz) Parkins. On October 21, 1947 she married James Vander Bloomen. Grace was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and the Waupaca VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed golfing.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Butler of Cleremont, FL; Bonnie (Jeff) Hollnbacher of Waupaca; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Frances Harris and Rose Kabacinski; brother, Robert Parkins and son-in-law, Robin Butler.
The Memorial Service will be today, Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Main Chapel of the Wisconsin Veterans Home. The visitation will be on Thursday in the chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Maple Crest Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
