T-Birds’ Beacom wins girls’ race

The wins keep adding up for Jada Beacom.
The Iola-Scandinavia senior turned in a time of 20:01 to win the girls’ race Sept. 27 at the Waupaca Invitational.
Winneconne and Wautoma/Wild Rose, won boys’ and girls’ championships, respectively, at the meet, which also included teams from Waupaca, Amherst, Marinette, Seymour, Wrightstown, Fox Valley Lutheran, Rhinelander and Peshtigo.
Other places and times for the Iola-Scandinavia girls, who placed 10th overall, were Makenna Brown (34th, 23:26); Briar Williams (58th, 25:01); Jessica Schaefer (61st, 25:22); and Tara Thompson (72nd, 29:26).
The Iola-Scandinavia boys placed 11th. Places and times included Erick Kriewaldt (42nd, 19:36); Dylan Donovan (49th, 20:05); Erik Grenlie (60th, 21:31); Brock Opperman (67th, 23:29); and Erich Schmoldt (68th, 23:32).
The Waupaca boys placed sixth out of 11 teams. Colby Nimmer turned in the fastest time of 18:08 to place 14th. Other places and times were Abram Jackson (18th, 18:14); Tyler Rogney (39th, 19:20); Arthur Lisogor (47th, 19:54); Sawyer Ziebell (48th, 19:54); Tyler Schroeder (53rd, 20:40); and Brock Sanger (55th, 20:52).
The Waupaca girls had only four runners and did not field a full team. Times and places were Karina Lisogor (38th, 23:35); Brooke Hansen (63rd, 25:45); Charlotte Buchman (70th, 28:41); and Sophia Dolski (71st, 28:46).
