Jeske, Joyce Ann

Joyce Ann Jeske, age 88, of Manawa, passed away on Monday, December 3rd at the Manawa Community Living Center.

She was born on September 24, 1930 in New London, daughter of the late Benjamin “Dutch” and Evelyn (Arndt) Miller. She grew up in New London and worked at the family business, Miller’s Restaurant. On April 30, 1948, she was united in marriage, for 62 years, to the late Gifford Jeske. They farmed in the Town of Union until 1965 when they bought Wings Inn in Ogdensburg which they ran for 28 years. After their retirement, they lived in Manawa where she enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with family. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (William) Huber, Manawa; son-in-law, Robert (Bubba) Sprenger, Marion; grandchildren: Lori England, Greenville; Jeni Dahn (Donte Quinine), Seattle; Tami Miller (special friend Tom Barnick), Marion; Brian (Amanda) Davis, New London; Jodi (Dave) Much, Greenville; Cami (Chris) Shefchik, Bellevue and Scott Secard, Manawa; great-grandchildren: Jestin and Skylar England; Olivia and Tyler Quinine; Brice Miller, Ellen Radies and Levi Barnick; Dayton Davis, Allison Schoenike, and Brynn Begrow; Rece and Savannah Much; Samantha and Megan Jacob; Emily Kastning, Morgan, Connor, and Kyla Shefchik; great-great-grandchildren, Jabril and Jacobi Barnick and sister-in-law, Beatrice (Jeske) Laruwe. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughter, Sue E. Sprenger, and a grandson-in-law, Glenn Conlon.

Funeral services for Joyce will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St Mark Lutheran Church in Symco with Rev. Jeffrey Smiles officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Symco. A visitation for Joyce will be held at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Life Celebration Center of Manawa on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
