Criminal sentencing

Convictions, sentencings and dismissals from Waupaca County felony cases:

• Judge Raymond Huber sentenced Kurt S. Richter, 58, New London, to three years in prison and three years of extended supervision.

Richter was convicted of threatening an officer.

Charges of attempted strangulation, battery and disorderly conduct as acts of domestic abuse were dismissed but read into the court record for sentencing purposes.

New London police were dispatched to Richter’s apartment for a domestic complaint.

During his arrest, Richter threatened to kill an officer.

• Huber sentenced Jacob L. Scheer, 27, Redgranite, to 18 months in prison and two years of extended supervision.

Scheer was convicted of fleeing an officer.

He is currently serving two years in prison for a forgery uttering conviction in Outagamie County.

• Huber revoked probation and sentenced Kendell E. Koch, 21, Waupaca, to 18 months in prison and 18 months of extended supervision.

In November 2017, Koch was placed on five years probation for burglary with seven months in jail. He was given 217 days credit for time served.

• Huber sentenced Arnold R. Hedtke, 29, Redgranite, to one year in state prison and one year of extended supervision.

Hedtke was convicted of a second offense of taking a vehicle without consent.

The Waupaca County prison sentence is to be served consecutively to a Columbia County one-year sentence for taking a vehicle without consent.

• Judge Vicki Clussman sentenced Penny L. Crawford, 44, Wilmington, Illinois, to the 15 days she spent in jail on a $500 cash bond.
Crawford was convicted of battery to an officer.

Clussman also ordered that Crawford be extradited to Illinois, where she is wanted on drug-related charges.

• Huber placed Jesse M. McLamarrah, 23, New London, on three years of probation with the conditions that he pay $518 in court costs and not possess any illegal drugs and participate in any counseling recommended by his probation agent.

McLamarrah was convicted of felony possession of narcotics.

• Huber placed Charles J. Myers, 30, Waupaca, on two years of probation and assessed him $528 in court costs.

Myers was convicted of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Charges of theft, possession of marijuana and misdemeanor bail jumping were dismissed but read into the record.

In a separate case, Myers was convicted of a second drinking and driving offense.

He was sentenced to 40 days in jail, assessed $1,597 in fines and court costs, and revoked for 14 months.

• Huber placed Amybeth M. Marlega, 42, New London, on three years of probation for felony bail jumping and theft.

He also sentenced Marlega to one year in jail for a burglary conviction, then stayed six months to be used at her probation agent’s discretion.

Huber assessed Marlega a total of $1,499 in court costs.

• Huber placed Erika L. Timm, 22, Waupaca, on four years of probation and stayed a six-month jail sentence.

In three separate cases, Timm was convicted of two counts of possession of methamphetamine, two counts of felony bail jumping and one count of possession of narcotics.

Two counts of delivery of a prescription drug and eight counts of bail jumping were dismissed but read into the record.
Huber assessed Timm a total of $2,590 in court costs.

He also ordered her to participate in Drug Treatment Court.

• Clussman found Christopher W. Yakich, 42, Waupaca, guilty but not guilty by reason of mental disease.

He entered no contest pleas to charges of threatening harm through unlawful use of a phone, spitting on an inmate, and three counts of felony bail jumping.

Clussman ordered Yakich to be committed to the custody of the Department of Health and Human Services for five years.

• Judge Troy Nielsen placed Stephanie H. Holman, 28, Clintonville, on 12 months of probation.

Holman was convicted of felony possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle with a restricted substance.

Nielsen imposed and stayed 60 days in jail on the possession charge and sentenced Holman to 10 days in jail on the operating with a restricted substance.

He also revoked her license for 12 months, ordered her to install an ignition interlock device and pay $1,989 in fines and court costs.

• Huber sentenced Cody D. Johnson, 19, Waupaca, to nine months in jail after revoking his probation.

In June 2018, Johnson was placed on two years of probation for possession of psilocin, theft, criminal trespass and concealing stolen property.

• Huber placed Jacob D. Milner, 21, Oshkosh, on two years of probation.

Milner was convicted of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

As conditions of Milner’s probation, Huber ordered him to pay $518 in court costs, not possess any illegal drugs and not operate a vehicle with any amount of alcohol or illegal drugs in his system.

• Huber placed Louis C. Dresen Jr., 36, New London, on two years of probation.

Dresen was convicted of battery, obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct.

As conditions of Dresen’s probation, Huber sentenced him to 90 days in jail, then stayed 60 days to be used at his agent’s discretion, assessed him $1,329 in court costs, ordered him to not possess any illegal drugs, and participate in any counseling recommended by his agent.

• Nielsen imposed and stayed 18 months in prison and then placed Steven A. Dupris, 27, Fremont, on three years of probation.

Dupris was convicted of maintaining a drug trafficking place and possession of marijuana.

Nielsen also stayed 90 days in jail as a condition of probation and ordered Dupris to pay $961 in court costs.

• Clussman placed Ambrose R. Wadzinski, 34, Dodge Correctional Institution, on two years of probation and ordered him to pay $518 in court costs.

Wadzinski was convicted of felony possession of marijuana.

He is currently serving two years in prison for a narcotics conviction in Shawano County.

• Nielsen imposed and stayed six months in jail and placed Tracy L. Zielke, 51, Waupaca, on 12 months of probation.

Zielke was convicted of operating with a restricted substance and possession of amphetamine.

Nielsen also sentenced Zielke to 10 days in jail on the driving offense, assessed her $1,914 in fines and court costs and revoked her license for 12 months.

• Clussman placed Joey N. Fristch, 21, Weyauwega, on three years of probation and ordered him to perform 100 hours of community service, participate in counseling and pay $1,630 in fines and court costs.

Fritch was convicted of possession of narcotics.

• Clussman placed Karena L. Allen, 26, Waupaca, on three years of probation and stayed a sentence of 180 days in jail.

Allen was convicted of two counts of possession of narcotics as party to a crime.

Conditions of Allen’s probation include that she obtain and maintain full-time employment, not possess illegal drugs, have no contact with drug dealers or drug users and particpate in counseling.

Clussman ordered Allen to pay $1,036 in court costs.

• Nielsen placed Dustin K. Arndt, 21, New London, on three years of probation and ordered him to pay $528 in court costs and serve 90 days in jail as conditins of probation.

Arndt was convicted of burglary.

• Huber placed Alexis Workman, 22, Shawano, on three years of probation and ordered him to pay $9,795 in restitution and court costs.

Workman was convicted of taking a vehicle without consent, theft, criminal damage to property and bail jumping.
