Pedestrian hit by vehicle in New London

An 83-year-old New London woman was struck by a vehicle while crossing Wolf River Avenue on Saturday, Jan. 5.

The woman suffered serious injuries but was reported to be in stable condition later that day, according to New London Police Chief Jeff Schlueter.

Gold Cross Ambulance and the New London Police Department responded to the downtown crash at the intersection of Wolf River Avenue and Pearl Street at 2:13 p.m.

The woman was transported to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah for treatment.

The driver, a 52-year-old Kaukauna man, was not injured. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, according to Schlueter.

NLPD did not release names, citing pending notification of family members.

New London Fire Department and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted NLPD at the scene.
