I-S knocks off Chargers

The Iola-Scandinavia boys’ basketball team a step closer to wrapping up a Central Wisconsin Conference East Division championship Feb. 14 with a 62-45 home win over Wittenberg-Birnamwood.
Justin Sivertson scored 16 of his game-high 26 points in the first half as the Thunderbirds took a 31-20 lead into the locker room.
Charlie Stockwell and Parker Prahl also finished in double figures for the T-Birds with 17 and 10 points, respectively, while Mike Gibson led Wittenberg-Birnamwood with 12.
Iola-Scandinavia improved to 10-1 in division play and 17-1 overall with the win.
The T-Birds will host Winneconne at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18.
