Waupaca County sheriff’s report Feb. 18

• Feb. 17 – Waupaca caller reported two people stole a radar detector and credit cards from his car when he gave them a ride.

• Feb. 17 – Festival Foods, New London, reported a young man wandered around the store, passed out in a bathroom stall, then wandered around some more before curling up in a fetal position on a bench.

• Feb. 17 – Staff at Wisconsin Veterans Home at King reported finding a small amount of marijuana on a resident.

• Feb. 17 – Staff at ThedaCare in Waupaca reported possible child abuse of a 3-year-old girl with injuries.

• Feb. 17 – Staff at the New London School District reported an eighth-grade girl made suicidal remarks.

• Feb. 17 – Anonymous caller reported the license plate number of a red car heading to Waupaca with methamphetamine in it.

• Feb. 17 – Caller reported her family stole her purse, credit cards and money while she was an inmate at the Waupaca County jail.

• Feb. 16 – Man from the 400 block of West Parker Street, Weyauwega, called 911 at about 1:30 a.m. because he lost his cellphone and it was the only number his old, canceled cellphone could call. He wanted an officer to help him find his phone.

• Feb. 16 – A man went to the door leading to the Waupaca County jail and demanded to speak with an officer. He would not give his name and became agitated.

• Feb. 16 – New London caller asked for extra patrol in the area because she believes her soon-to-be-ex-husband may go to her parents’ home where she is staying and hurt her and her children.

• Feb. 16 – Waupaca caller reported she is locked in her bedroom, and her husband is threatening to break the door down.

• Feb. 16 – Waupaca caller said a woman was trespassing in his rental apartment and refusing to leave.

• Feb. 16 – New London caller said a man was trespassing in his rental unit.

• Feb. 16 – Waupaca caller reported a man followed her 11-year-old daughter home and offered her a condom.

• Feb. 15 – Caller from the N9000 block of county Trunk J, Iola, reported their dog went missing about a year ago, and they thought he was dead. Caller recently learned where the dog was located, and saw him when he went to the address.

• Feb. 15 – Caller reported a man was driving a 4-wheeler up and down Mill Street in Waupaca. She said she nearly hit him.

• Feb. 15 – Caller from the 1300 block of Jefferson Street, New London, said she is taking care of her friend who has moved into a nursing home, and things are now missing from his garage.

• Feb. 15 – Scandinavia woman said her estranged husband took a safe from her home. There were blank checks in the safe, and she recently received a notice that someone tried to use her account to make a transaction.

• Feb. 15 – Caller from the N1300 block of Speer Road, Waupaca, reported the theft of a blue Chevy Impala.

• Feb. 15 – Caller from the 400 block of South Western Avenue, Waupaca, requested a welfare check on the resident in an adjacent apartment. She said she heard pounding, then a loud thud, followed by silence. She said she can normally hear the neighbor moving around in his apartment.

• Feb. 15 – Caller from the 200 block of West Alfred Street, Weyauwega, reported an intoxicated man lying on the sidewalk. When the caller tried to help the man, he started yelling.

• Feb. 13 – New London woman called requesting information on housing because her boyfriend kicked her out and she had no place to go.

• Feb. 13 – Caller from the 700 block of LeRoy Butler Drive, Waupaca, reported her ex-boyfriend came over and threatened to kill her. She said he looked like he was on drugs and has a history of heroin use.

• Feb. 13 – Waupaca caller said her daughter is selling a dresser on Craig’s List and someone from Illinois sent her a check that was $1,400 more than the listed price. They then asked her to cash the check and buy iTune cards for the $1,400.

• Feb. 12 – Caller from the N4700 block of Pine Street, New London, complained his neighbor keeps plowing snow against his shed.

• Feb. 12 – Caller from the 200 block of North Main Street, Waupaca, complained her neighbors shoveled a bunch of snow onto her car. When her husband went outside and asked them to remove the snow, an argument ensued.

Traffic
Two people were injured when a car hit a snowplow at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Jennifer Voight, 37, Marion, was driving southbound on Town Hall Road in the town of Dupont when she lost control on an icy, snow-drifted road and crossed into the path of a northbound Waupaca County snowplow.

Voight and a 15-year-old passenger were transported to ThedaCare in New London for suspected minor injuries.

The driver of the plow truck, Jacob Overdahl, 34, Bear Creek, was not reportedly injured.
