Convictions, sentencings and dismissals from Waupaca County felony cases:

• Judge Edward Huber sentenced Glen E. Schafer, 45, Almond, to eight years in prison and two years of extended supervision.

Schafer was convicted of his 10th drunken driving offense.

He must also install an ignition interlock on all his vehicles for 36 months and pay $2,365 in fines and court costs. His license is revoked for 36 months.

Schafer was held in custody on a $10,000 cash bond since his arrest on July 23, 2018.

On a single day in July 2003, Schafer was convicted in Marathon County of his fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth drunken driving offenses and sentenced to one year in prison for each conviction, to be served consecutively.

In June 2008, Schafer was convicted in Portage County of his ninth drunken driving offense and sentenced to three years in prison.

Marathon County then revoked his extended supervision and sentenced him to another two years and 145 days in prison.

• Judge Vicki Clussman sentenced Michael E. Ball, 38, Waupaca, to two years in prison and two years of extended supervision.

Ball was convicted of delivery of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to deliver and misdemeanor child neglect.
Clussman also ordered Ball to pay $1,779 in fines and court costs.

• Clussman placed Daniel J. Werther, 34, and Rachel L. Remington, 31, both of Waupaca, on three years of probation and assessed each of them $1,891 in fines and court costs.

Werther and Remington were convicted of fleeing an officer. Charges of criminal damage to property and obstructing an officer were dismissed but read into the court record.

• Huber placed Johnathon C. Coleman, 23, Hatley, on five years of probation.

Coleman was convicted of burglary as a repeat offender.

Huber stayed nine months in jail to be used at the probation agent’s discretion and ordered Coleman to pay $5,929 in restitution and court costs.

• Huber imposed and stayed three years in prison and placed Christopher J. Hendricks, 23, Waupaca, on three years of probation.

Hendricks was convicted of felony delivery of cocaine.

Huber stayed six months in jail that can be used by the probation agent upon application to the court.

Hendricks was assessed $678 in court costs.

• Judge Troy Nielsen placed Luke A. Sprenger, 30, Readfield, on four years of probation. Sprenger was convicted of possession of narcotics, possession of methamphetamine and two counts of felony bail jumping.

As conditions of probation, Nielsen ordered Sprenger to pay $2,072 in fines and court costs and sentenced him to six months in jail with three months stayed to be used at the agent’s discretion.

• Huber placed David G. Ingles, 60, Amherst on three years of probation.

Ingles was convicted of a fifth offense of operating a vehicle with a controlled substance.

As a condition of probation, Huber ordered Ingles to spend one year in jail with six months stayed to be used by the agent upon application to the court.

Huber also revoked Ingles’ license for 36 months and ordered him to install an ignition interlock device.

Ingles was assessed $2,365 in fines and court costs.

• Clussman sentenced Thomas R. Smith, 32, Tomah, to 20 days in jail and ordered him to pay $1,717 in fines and court costs.

Smith was convicted of failure to report to jail.

He was originally sentenced to 10 days in jail after being convicted of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and hit-and-run.

• Nielsen placed Christopher L. Collar, 28, New London, on 12 months of probation.

Collar was convicted of possession of methamphetamine.

Nielsen ordered Collar to pay $518 in court costs and spend 90 days in jail with 30 stayed to be used at the agent’s discretion.

• Clussman imposed and stayed three years in prison and placed Colt J. Buchanan, 24, Iola, on four years of probation.

Buchanan was convicted of two counts of delivery of cocaine and one count of misdemeanor bail jumping.

Thirteen other felony and misdemeanor charges were read into the court record.

Clussman also ordered Buchanan to pay $4,279, which includes $2,800 in drug-buy money. The assessments were taken out of the $20,000 cash bond Buchanan posted.

• Nielsen revoked probation and sentenced Jamal A. Pointer, 23, Waupaca, to one year in jail.

In July 2017, Pointer was placed on two years of probation after he was convicted of battery and disorderly conduct.

In November 2018, Pointer was charged with obstructing an officer and possession of marijuana.
