Civilian Conservation Corps

Waupaca Historical Society program set for March 28

Kerry Bloedorn will present “Civilian Conservation Corps and Wisconsin” at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at the Holly History and Genealogy Center.

He is the coordinator of the Pioneer Park Historical Complex in Rhinelander, which includes one of the country’s most extensive Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) museums.

The program will include an overview of the CCC and President Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal that made the program possible, the CCC’s impact on Wisconsin and Waupaca residents’ work within the CCC.

The program and refreshments are sponsored by Steve and Barbara Laedtke.

The Holly Center is located at 321 S. Main St., in Waupaca.
