Teens crash stolen car

Two runaways from Rawhide Boys Ranch in rural New London are accused of stealing a white sports utility vehicle Saturday, March 23.

According to Waupaca County Sheriff Timothy Wilz, New London police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it reached such high speeds within city limits that the officers ended the pursuit.

The vehicle was seen northbound on U.S. Highway 45 north of New London and a second chase began and ended due to safety concerns over the vehicle’s speed.
Clintonville police also attempted to stop the vehicle and also terminated after a short pursuit.

The vehicle eventually crashed and rolled over with Shawano county deputies following it.

Two boys, ages 15 and 17, were arrested at the scene of the crash.

Both sustained injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
