Inger, Martin O.

Martin O. Inger, age 65 of Clintonville, passed away Friday morning, April 5, 2019 at his home.

Martin “Marty” Oliver Inger was born July 25, 1953 at the Fort Lee Army Post, VA to the late Martin O. and Joan (Messinger) Inger. Following graduation from high school, Marty entered the Army and served in Vietnam from February 1971 to November 1972. He was honorably discharged, and once he got back to the states, attended school to become an LPN. He worked for the Veteran’s Hospital in Michigan for a few years. Marty later re-located to the Clintonville area and started working at Seagrave Fire Apparatus as a programmer on the CNC machines. He retired in 2015 after over 20 years of service. He enjoyed skydiving and had over 25 jumps to his name; he also got an adrenaline rush for caring for and driving his 1977 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Marty loved to travel to tropical locations, having visited the Bahamas, Jamaica, Grand Cayman Islands, Cozumel, and Cancun. He will be remembered as a quiet soul who would also let you know what he thought if you asked; he was always willing to help friends and family if they needed it. Marty loved his wife, children, and grandchildren, and will be missed.

Martin is survived by his wife, Penny; sons: Brian (Julie Ann) Inger, Sheboygan; Joseph (Alma) Inger, Oak Creek; and Steven (Lisa) Inger, Ashwaubenon; grandchildren: Evan, Christian, and Hunter; sisters, Tina Inger, Crandon and Paula Inger, Wausau; and brother, Ken (Rhonda) Inger, Manawa. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 – 4 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville. Military honors will be held outside at 4 p.m. by VFW Post #664, American Legion Post #63, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #63, all of Clintonville.
