Paul C. Tautges, age 88, of Amherst, WI passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at his residence.
He was born in Aniwa, WI on February 9, 1931, a son of the late George and Mary (Muhs) Tautges. Paul married Marcella Kunst on June 27, 1959 in Aniwa. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After completing his tour of duty, Paul was proud to complete his high school education. Paul was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Amherst. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working, reading and working puzzles.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella Tautges, Amherst, WI; daughters: Anne (Mark) Thelen, Freedom, WI; Debora (Craig) Peterson, Sobieski, WI; Veronica Tautges, Marion, WI; grandchildren: Ryan, Elizabeth, Jamie, Lesley, Craig Jr., Tiffany, Zachary, Michael, Timothy, David and Jacob; seven great-grandchildren; siblings: Frances (Frank) Benes; David (Cathy) Tautges; Barbara Kerchoff; MaryAnn (Raymond) Bonk. He was preceded in death by his parents, son – Mark Tautges, siblings – August, Genevieve, Agnes; infant brothers – Robert and Edward.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11 a.m., with Father Ed Shuttleworth officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the St. James Catholic Cemetery in Amherst. Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.
