Angela H. Grabbert, 41, Lake Geneva, is charged with felony identity theft with the intent to cause harm and misdemeanor posting a sexually explicit image without consent.

She made her initial appearance in Outagamie County Circuit Court on May 2 and signed a $1,500 signature bond.

If convicted of identity theft, she faces up to six years in prison.

According to the criminal complaint:

In November 2017, Hortonville Police Officer Bryan Hauser spoke with a village resident who said he met Grabbert on a dating website. They exchanged nude photos prior to breaking up, he said.

After they separated, the man reported receiving harassing text messages that contained death threats against him and his son from an unknown phone number. He suspected Grabbert.

The man found a Craigslist advertisement that displayed two sexually explicit photos he had sent to Grabbert as well as two pictures of his face, he told Hauser.

The advertisement listed his home address and encouraged men to stop by the back door to “hook up.” As a result, numerous men stopped over, the man told Hauser.

Grabbert initially denied making the ad before admitting she did it to give the man a hard time, according to the criminal complaint.

She has a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 18.
