Man accused of domestic abuse

Suspect charged with strangulation, battery

Adam R. Jensen, 38, New London, is charged with felony strangulation, battery and disorderly conduct as acts of domestic abuse.

On June 13, New London police officers responded to a domestic complaint at an apartment on Beckert Road.

A woman told the officers she and Jensen had been out to the bars that night, and an argument ensued after she said she did not want to go home.

Jensen left her at the bar, and she found a ride with her mother.

She slept on the couch that night.

When she woke up she could not find her cellphone, so she went to look for it in the bedroom.

According to the criminal complaint, she asked Jensen to borrow his phone. He said no and she tried to grab it from the bed.

Jensen allegedly threw her to the ground and choked her.

The woman went to her mother’s home where she found her phone.

After she returned home, Jensen allegedly punched her in the face and choked her again.

He was released from custody on a $2,000 signature bond with the condition that he have no contact with the victim except one time to go upon the premises to retrieve his personal belongings.

Jensen is currently on one year of probation following a September 2018 conviction for disorderly conduct as an act of domestic abuse.
