Waupaca County sheriff’s report July 8

• July 7 – Caller from the N1300 block of West Road, Waupaca, reported someone in a pickup truck placed fireworks in her mailbox and blew it up.

• July 7 – Caller from the 600 block of North Street, Waupaca, reported a gas leak.

• July 7 – Caller from the E9300 block of Oakwood Lane, New London, reported someone egged his car and several other vehicles in the neighborhood.

• July 7 – Anonymous caller reported a 9-year-old was riding a 4-wheeler up and down Shambeau Court and Shambeau Trace, Waupaca.

• July 7 – Caller at a Waupaca park reported a man was yelling and swearing at a child to go down a slide. The caller said the man slapped the child in the face several times.

• July 7 – New London caller reported her granddaughter took her debit card and withdrew money from her checking account.

• July 6 – Caller reported finding a semi-automatic handgun in the westbound lane of State Street, Iola.

• July 6 – Marion caller reported a 45-year-old man who lived on their street was running naked on their property.

• July 6 – Caller from the E1800 block of North Westagate Acres, Waupaca, reported a woman entered his garage and took his hunting gear. He had pictures of the incident.

• July 6 – Waupaca caller reported her brain was going crazy and her house was driving her insane.

• July 5 – Waupaca caller reported his 54-year-old friend was intoxicated and threatening to kill himself.

• July 5 – ThedaCare Physicians in Waupaca requested a welfare check on a 78-year-old man who told a nurse over the phone that he was going to blow his head off.

• July 5 – A Fremont caller reported a 56-year-old woman who was being treated for depression took a lot of pills and left the house on foot.

• July 4 – Caller on the Chain O’ Lakes in Waupaca reported about six jet skis were operating recklessly, coming too close to the docks and making it unsafe to swim.

• July 4 – TK’s Bar and Grill, Manawa, reported a man in his 60s was intoxicated and unresponsive.

• July 4 – Waupaca Park and Rec reported a vehicle with a boat trailer needed to be moved or they could not light the fireworks.

• July 4 – Rosa Theater, South Main Street, Waupaca, requested help in removing a snapping turtle that was outside the theater.

• July 3 – Weyauwega Travel Plaza, Lakeshore Drive, reported someone who appeared to be overdosing on drugs fell out of a red Chevy car. Another passenger pushed him back into the car.

• July 3 – Caller from the 800 block of Ninth Street, Waupaca, reported the theft of a mini iPad with a white case and a charger.

• July 3 – Caller from the N3700 block of County Trunk H, Fremont, reported a man and a woman in their 50s were trespassing on his dock and refused to leave.

• July 3 – Caller from the 900 block of River Street, Fremont, reported a man walked into their yard and asked for weed.

• July 3 – Iola caller reported his brother shot himself. He said he was not conscious and not breathing.

• July 3 – Waupaca caller reported a 23-year-old intoxicated woman was unconscious and having seizures.

Traffic

A 26-year-old Waupaca man was seriously inured in a rollover crash at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, July 7.

Cody J. Wilz was traveling southbound on State Highway 49 in the town of Waupaca when he failed to negotiate a curve.

Wilz’s vehicle left the road, hit two trees and rolled over approximately 50 feet into the woods.

Wilz was trapped in his vehicle and needed to be extricated by firefighters.

He was flown to ThedaCare Medical Center in Neenah for treatment of serious injuries.

Wilz was also cited for a second OWI.
