Pickup hits pedestrian

A pickup truck hit a 14-year-old Neillsville girl around 9 p.m. Friday, July 5, while she was crossing County Trunk E in the town of Lind.

According to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, the girl was crossing from the west to the east side of County E at Spencer Lake Camp.

The camp is located on both sides of the road.

A northbound pickup truck, driven by a 19-year-old woman from Berlin, hit the girl.

A helicopter flew the girl to ThedaCare Medical Center in Neenah.

Waupaca County deputies continue to investigate the crash. Wisconsin State Patrol is completing a traffic crash reconstruction of the incident and assisting with the investigation.

No further information, including the injured girl’s condition, has been released.
